I just want to ask, I have an i7 3820 on a ASUS P9x79 board.
with a corsair cx 750 power supply. i built this system almost 4 years ago and i havent upgraded, I just saved up enough money to upgrade and I want to get a GTX 1080 Ti.
and my questions are.

Is my PSU enough? and would the GTX 1080 Ti bottleneck my 3820?.

Solution
Your power supply should be fine. Despite being hugely powerful, the 1080 Ti is surprisingly power efficient compared to older generation cards. For reference, my GTX 770 draws the same 250W of power and I have a 700W PSU. No problems.

As for bottlenecking: while not the newest or fastest, your CPU is still decent enough.

What resolution is your monitor?
