battlefield 5 raytracing performance tests say that raytracing on costs 30 to 50% of FPS. at 1080P (less on 2080Ti, more on 2070)
based on that, high refresh rate gaming with it on is... not good.

Past that, 1080Ti is pretty even with 2080 (2080 is a bit faster) but... local prices matter a lot.
I got 2070 since it cost less than 1080 and was undoubtedly better, not due to new RTX benefits.

Long story short, my recommendation is.. "get the cheaper one" since they perform pretty much just as well.
If you care/need the new raytracing options for other things, then there is no real question there.

I would say gtx 1080ti or wait. Gtx 1080ti is cheaper and right now games don't have ray tracing support so we don't know how great ray tracing is and that's why that feature is not worth it right now. Also rtx cards doesn't have good drivers right now but i think nvidia will fix that in future. Both cards perform almost the same in games and handle 1440p gaming and editing. So what matters right now is the price.
