[SOLVED] GTX 1080 TI vs RTX 2080 for 1080p 144Hz

I don't care much about resolution, I'm a refresh rate addict. Where I live the 1080 TI costs like $50 more than the RTX 2080.

The cards I'm considering:
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming OC
ZOTAC GeForce RTX 2080 AMP! Edition

I've read benchmarks and looked at reviews but everyone talk about 4K, while I just want 1080p and 144hz. To me, the 2080 seems better because of the price, futureproofing and it's tied with the 1080 TI as far as I can see in benchmarks in general. Any advice?

Between those 2 cards yeah get the 2080. 2070 would prolly be fine for 1080 144hz tho

Between the two I'd get the 2080 but make sure you pair it with a good CPU, for 1080P/144hz at the minimum I'd probably snag the 9600K & overclock it to 5ghz+.

I have the I7 8700K, no OC. Still good?

It's fine for stock but you may want to overclock it eventually on more CPU demanding titles.

2080 will be the better choice here, the performance of both the GPU is almost similar. So I will recommend you to go with 2080 and save some bucks
