Which is better for gaming and by how much. Bear in mind I'm in the UK so £ required.

My Xbox 360 S is five years old and there are some games that are not running properly (unrecognised disc errors) and now GTAV is restarting itself with disc errors. So I was thinking yesterday, what about the Xbox One? My Xbox 360 may be starting to give up. I could get another Xbox 360, but new ones are still £300 which is £100 more than a One S. I could get a used Xbox 360 when the time comes, but it's used, anything could have happened (bans etc.). I could go back to my Xbox 360 Pro, but that was retired for a reason.

The other issues are I have a gaming PC. I could get a 1080 Ti which is what I was looking to do. It's about £400 - £500 which is probably what the Scorpio is going to cost. Plus, Scorpio won't play games that my PC won't get and it won't play the majority of my Xbox 360 games. I've had an Xbox 360 in some form for 9 years now. Is it better to (when the time comes and I have the cash):

get a used Xbox 360
get a new Xbox 360
get an Xbox One S (although the more powerful Scorpio is coming. It's £100 cheaper than a new 360, but more powerful system coming)
get an Xbox One Scorpio

do none of those and get a 1080 Ti?

1080 Ti will come at some point regardless what happens as it will be better able to use my 4K TV to its full potential. So keep in mind 4K resolution and the highest settings and frame rate possible is what I'm after.

Just from the reasons you stated the GTX 1080 Ti seems the best option for sure. I don't think 4K at maximum FPS and settings is going to be achievable but it'll sure have higher FPS and visuals than the Scorpio will. But remember your choosing between something that isn't even out yet so who knows how good it really will be. Either way i'll say for certain it won't come close to what a GTX 1080 Ti can offer. Assuming you have a CPU that can work well with it. What's in your current system?

I'm looking for the sweet spot between frame rate, settings and resolution. Doesn't have to be max settings (but max settings is welcome)

The res of he system
i5 4570 (been wanting to change to a 4770k or similar, but never been a good time to do it)
16 GB RAM
Z97 Gaming 7

Seems reasonable. I'd expect the i5 4570 to bottleneck in most games but not to a point where it would be major. You've already got a great Motherboard and plenty of RAM. If you could find a 4770K or 4790K (it'll work if your BIOS is up to date) then that would be a great pairing with the 1080 Ti, easily setup for Gaming at good FPS/settings although i can't give you exact numbers since this is 4K.
