GTX 1080 underperforming recently

I have a GTX 1080 3 days now and have noticed it started performing worse overnight. My PC wasnt touched and all the parts are working fine. In GTA V I am getting 50 - 65 fps in the city and 80 out in the country. I know this is good but not on the level of a 1080
SPECS

i5 6500
MSI GTX 1080 GAMING X PLUS
H170M MOTHERBOARD
DDR3 VENGANCE RAM 2X4
500W Bronze PSU

Can you please elaborate on how the performance started to degrade? What were the framerates before it started to slowly degrade in performance?

P.S You might mean DDR4 memory on your specs.

Sorry, i was panicked and really unspesific. I reset my BIOS and defragmented my hard drive and everything is good now , thanks
and it is ddr3 , vengance lpx

That's great to hear. It's rare to find people using DDR3L (At least where I live)

Get yourself a ssd for newer games like gta V.
You will notice a big difference in loading speeds
