So I've got my workhorse station (Mac Pro) and I've been waiting for the Pascal GPUs to get released to upgrade my current setup, though I see that the 1080 only supports Displayport, HDMI, and DVI. My current monitor, the 27" Cinema, is MiniDP. I know there are converters, but I've heard mixed reviews on performance using a converter.
Anyone know if there is a significant performance loss?
Any brands they can recommend?
And should I convert from MiniDP to DP, or MiniDP to HDMI?

Solution
There is no conversion with that cable, it is a straight-trough connection (wires) between two connectors.
Just read the link I have provided (it was edited since you quoted it).

I understand that there are cables, I'm asking if there's a performance discrepancy when you use a converter. Some converters only support 1080p, and while I'm sure I could find a 4k converter I'd still be worried about losses if I'm using a third party cable.
