GTX 1080 vs GTX 1080 TI

I know the TI is better, can someone explain the major differences? Is it worth it to spend $200 more? I'm looking to build a high-end gaming PC, which one do you recommend?

- Depends on what kind of games / programs you use.
- What kind of monitor are you using.


Getting an 1080Ti for a 1080p monitor is a total overkill.
At 4k even the 1080Ti will struggle in AAA games.
At 1440p the 1080 is great while the 1080Ti is superior.

1080p monitor = 1080
1440p monitor = 1080 - 1080Ti
4k monitor = 1080Ti
