Hi, I currently have a pair of 780 TI's in SLI. I used a 4k display as my primary.

I am having difficulty finding comparisons of the 780 TI in SLI to a single GTX 1080. Based on some reviews and benchmarks, it seems that the 1080 will be far better than the SLI pair I have at this time for 4k performance. Has anyone else already made a change like this and skipped a generation?

Thanks.

hahaha sure m8

the GTX 780ti SLI, think of it as double GTX 980s. the 1080 is said to be better than 2 980s in SLI. a great amount better

but if you are satisfied with your current frame rates, and you believe that you do not need an improvement, then yo don't switch to avoid another 650$ out of your wallet. only upgrade when you absolutely NEED to. and I mean like the improvement will be noticeable, but do you need it is the best answer.

Well, to be fair, he can probably get a decent price for both the 780's if he sells them, they're still good cards (excellent cards for someone who might play less demanding games in fact) and that would offset the price of a new 1080. The big thing with these cards though is the power consumption. The 1080 draws about 150-200w, a single 780ti pulls 230-270, and you have two of them.

Not only will you get about double the frame rate (or more), you'll do so much cooler, and much quieter than your current rig at about 1/3rd the power draw. Win/win.
