Gtx 1080Ti is giving only 45-50 FPS at just 1080p resolution

Hello guys.
First of all here is my key specs.
- Ryzen 7 1700 (oc 3.65 Ghz)
- Nvidia GTX 1080Ti
- Gskill 3200 Mhz 32 GB ram
- Gigabyte Aorus X370 Mobo
- 2 TB harddisk and 250 GB SSD.

I built this PC for 4K gaming but as I was running low on budget, I decided to buy a cheap 1080p monitor temporary.

But I am getting only 45-55 FPS on Gta V at ultra settings. It shows full 75 hz only when I am standing still and not running or driving vehicle.

As per my hardware, I should not face any lag even in 4k resolution. So at 1080p resolution, It should be peice of cake for it.

I have updated my drivers and also tried turning on/off Vertical sync. I cant find solution for it. Please suggest me what to do. Thanks in advance

1) Are you running your RAM at 3200 Mhz? If not, what are you running it at?
2) Since when are you getting low performance? Since you built the system or is it something new?
3) How was the performance like when the CPU was not OC'd?
4) Which 1080ti do you have? make and model? Link to the site would be extremely helpful
5) Sorry to ask this, but have to get this out of the way. Are the games legit or pirated? If pirated, thats the problem. If not, what platform? Steam etc.

I max out 2 1080gtx SC 2114/5508 in gta v
108min (rare) 120+ avg max 137 144 cap to 144 hz monitor

I am 1080p 144hz 1ms on 24in vsync on ( no g sync monitor) AA max ultra settings

this is why I say vs 1 or 2 1080gtx or ti is not overkill even at 1080p some games

game debate seems right 44% slower than 2 gtx but still 1 Ti should beat 1 of mine easy

I took out a card for test since with in it gives tad gpu/memory like 200/400 clock showing
I avg with above setting 75-120 but not as stable at staying at higher fps this is common difference for 1 vs 2 for me, 1 gtx 1080 black ops 3 loved 75 -144 but fps all over, 2 144 most of time
Metro 40s to 80s 2033 or or LL ultra setting aa max vsync on 85-130 avg over 110 both cards 93% use too.

I would look into other games on setup the harder ones to see if others doing same and reinstall game with newest driver first tho

I have similar PC but cpu is different
X99 Asus strix
I7 6850k@4. 4
32GB DDR4
2 evga sc 1080gtx @ 2114/5508
2X480gb ssd hds on raid 0 on sata6gb ram cache on ssd hds

You are expecting too much from your Ryzen. Those ryzens will gimp a GTX1080ti for sure see:

Overall, the Intel Kaby Lake 7700K CPU at 5GHz Z270 system provided the highest performance while gaming. Didn’t matter if it was single-GPU, multi-GPU, 1080p, or 1440p, or 4K, the most wins (at least in terms of raw data) are with the 7700K at an overclocked 5GHz.

Overall, the AMD Ryzen 7 1700X at an overclocked 4GHz provided the same performance and gameplay experience as the Intel 2600K on Z68 at 4.5GHz. It was most competitive with the 2600K CPU with both overclocked to the highest levels.

In terms of gameplay experience we felt the 2600K and Ryzen CPUs "felt" the same while gaming in single-GPU at any resolution. We "felt" the 7700K at 5GHz had an experience advantage at all resolutions, and especially with multi-GPU CrossFire.

If you are not doing 4K where the bottleneck is the GPU, at 1080p you are exacerbating the problems and the Ryzen will gimp those 1080ti really hard.

OP, did you get your issue fixed? If not, need to answer Hellraiser’s questions.

Also, when you installed Win10 did you do it clean (ie not moved drive from another build) and did you download and install the chipset, audio, and additional controller drivers from the mobo makers website?

You should be over 100fps in gtav.
