[SOLVED] GTX 1650 SUPER vs 1060 6GB

I've heard that the GTX 1650 Super is equivalent in performance to a GTX 1060 6GB. Is this true? And if so, isn't a used 1060 6GB a better, since it has 6GB of VRAM? Also I noticed that all the AIB 1650 Super's have only three video outputs: 1x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI, 1x DVI. Whereas many of the 1060 6GB cards have at least 3x DisplayPort and 1x HDMI. It's also worth mentioning that the previous 1650 (non super) GPUs also had 3x DisplayPort and 1x HDMI. It would appear that the AIB partners eliminated a few ports in order to cut some costs associated with this card.

Hi @rcald2000

Up until last month when I got a 5700 XT for Christmas, I had a 1060 ( The EVGA 1060 6GB SC to be exact) and it was a nifty little card...

the faster RAM makes the difference. more slow ram vs less fast ram equals about the same, GDDR5 vs GDDR6, add the architecture changes...
I would look at them as equals more or less and let the price decide if it can for new cards. looks like the 4GB 1650 Super is gonna be the price winner according to PCPP

Hi @rcald2000

Up until last month when I got a 5700 XT for Christmas, I had a 1060 ( The EVGA 1060 6GB SC to be exact) and it was a nifty little card! It's now in my daughters 2700X system. It's an extremely capable card. Even now.

That being said, the 1650 outperforms it. Barely, but it does. It all comes down to the cost. If you can get the 1060 for a good deal less, then get it, but if they are close in price, the 1650 is the better choice.
