Hi,

I just bought a palit gtx 1660 super storm x (the single fan). My case is a keytech t-1000 case with a 4 fan setup. My idle temp is 46 to 49 degrees but whenever i play heavy games (final fantasy 15) the temp goes up to 75 degrees. It never exceeds that though. It just plays around 73 to 75 degrees. Is that considered safe? Current specs are:

I7 6700 (non K)
16 gb ram t force blitz 3200 mhz
Asus h110m v
Aerocool rave 600w power supply

My previous gpu was a gigabyte rx 570 which runs at the same temp when on full load but i think rx 570 has higher power consumption.

Yes, it is more than safe.

In fact it sounds pretty decent.

This is the temp for another sing;e-fan model of 1660 Super:
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-geforce-gtx-1660-super-phoenix/34.html (yours runs way cooler it seems)

And here's a review of the 1660 (non-super) version of your card:
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/palit-geforce-gtx-1660-storm-x/32.html

Given that the 1660 Super uses more energy than a 1660 (therefore, more heat), variations in case airflow and ambient temperatures, 75 degrees under heavy gaming load sounds right on the money.

The idle temps sound a little warm - does the card's fan switch off on idle?

Wow i thought it was quite high. Im not sure if this card has a fan stop but once i turn my pc on, the fan just runs so i guess it doesn't have that feature. what do you think should i do to lower it? Thanks a lot!

Not sure, get GPU-Z and see whether the GPU is downclocking itself on idle - could just be that although the card is meant to be idle, something is keeping the frequencies up.

A browser or game client could. Or a minor driver issue. ~50 degrees would sound reasonably for full frequencies with low load...

I have bought the same palit 1660s stormX
I only play warzone and Valorant and gpu temps always hit at 73-75 degrees at high settings

If you want your gpu to last longer
Try undervolting
I undervolted it at 750mV, 1545mhz using msi afterburner
It runs way more cooler at 60-63 degrees

And Yes my FPS is still the same no decrease in performance
