I am looking to buy a new monitor which is 240hz (the BenQ Zowie XL2546K), but i am getting an average of 180-200fps in-game. GPU: gtx 1600S, CPU: i7-7700.

So should i consider buying 165hz instead of 240hz as i am not getting avg 240fps? as i can get 165hz literally half of the price, so it keeps me thinking.

So please suggest me what should i do, also i have to plan to play esports in-near future. Thanks!

Mainly for Valorant.

People tend to keep monitors longer than graphics cards and CPUs. So getting a monitor you can't fully utilize now isn't necessarily a bad thing. Given your plans, more Hz the better I would say.

But if you can spend half now, and say, upgrade your CPU and Motherboard now, that would be worth it for high FPS gaming. You can always lower graphics settings and resolution to improve FPS, so it makes the GPU less important to some extent.

Well, I've plans to upgrade my PC in the future, but if I buy the monitor at half price now, I probably not planning to upgrade the CPU & extra parts(I'll just spend my money on monitor only), so I think I better go for high refresh rate monitor?
