Gtx 260 or 275

Hey guys im building a new pc in this thread over here

my pc so far

But since this is a gpu question ima bring it up here



ok , so my monitior is a viewsonic 19 inch at 1280x1024 max resolution ,

im trying to find out if i should go with a evga gtx 260 0r gtx275 , is there a big difference between them , also i will not be sli'ing initially but maybe in the future


also there are 1 gig and 2 gig card , is there a big need for 2 gigs with my resolution or will it do nothing ??

Get the 260, you won't see a difference at that resolution and you will have money saved up for that future 260... [:jaydeejohn:5]

At 1280x1024 the GTX260 will be more than enough, especially when paired with your i7. Make sure it is a Core 216, just check the specs and make sure it has 216 Processor cores and not 192.

GTX260 is about 5-15% slower than the GTX275.

The difference between 1GB and 2GB of video memory will be minimal to none at 1280x1024. High video memory 'needs' high resolution to show any improvement.
