GTX 260 Sli Minimum Amps

Hi Guys,

Quick question, what would be the minimum Amps on the +12 rail that would be neccesary for GTX 260's in Sli?

My guess is 36-42 amps for the graphics card alone, so at least 60 for the entire system just to be safe.

Well i dont think you need that many amps. Im running 2 gtx260 sli oc with only a 500w psu.

Hmmm interesting, well i have 40 amps across 2 +12 rails, but i only have 2 6-pin PCI-e connectors. Would i just use the 4-pin to 6-pin adapters for the additional slots? Would i have to underclock the cards or something?

I just used the adapter. No you dont have to underclock the cards. What psu do you have? My psu is cutting it close but it works great because of the quality.

Im using the BFG 650 GS, not the best I know, but thats what I have to work with atm.

well im runing two gtx260 with my antec trio 550w .. this psu has 3 lines each 12v/18amp, total 42amp

ok i have a 600w psu and if i were to get SLI with gtx 260 i would be fine because i have been told different
