i am currently borrowing a friends 295 (because his current PSU is not strong enough)
i put it in sli with my current 295 with the new card being the main one
when playing games like world of warcraft or planetside 2 the screen goes black sometimes flickers the loading/log on screens for the respective games and occasionaly freezes
with world of warcraft everything breaks and i have to reset the computer but with PS2 i can ctrl alt delete and get the task manager up (where the game promtly crashes and dies) and then i get a notification saying the graphics driver failed and recovered
world of warcraft works if i disable SLI i have not tried planet side 2 both games worked with the xfx pinegroup card with sli enabled (before i added the second 295)

i am currently in the middle of installing the latest drivers in a clean install to see if that fixes anything

(also when i had first turned on the computer after installing the cards windows decided it wanted to install some drivers and then said it needed to restart after it restarted i got a notification saying the cards needed an sli bridge in order to work in sli correctly but there was already one connected so i changed the sli bridge over (the side that was plugged in the bottom card is now plugged into the top one and visa versa) after turning the computer off and unplugging it of course, it now appears to see that there is an sli bridge there (although i do not quite know what i should be looking for to confirm that)

speccy on the main summery page lists this under graphics (the asus one is my friends new card the xfx card is mine)
Generic Non-PnP Monitor (1920x1080@60Hz)
896MB GeForce GTX 295 (ASUStek Computer Inc) 56 °C
896MB GeForce GTX 295 (ASUStek Computer Inc) 54 °C
896MB GeForce GTX 295 (XFX Pine Group) 51 °C
896MB GeForce GTX 295 (XFX Pine Group) 48 °C
ForceWare version 314.07
SLI Enabled

and the motherboard an ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8P67 PRO REV 3.1 according to this page asus has on the motherboard: http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/P8P67_PRO_REV_31/ supports SLI

if this driver re-install fails to fix anything i shall try taking out my xfx pinegroup card and running the programs with just the asus card

the full report speccy gives me on the graphics cards (just in case theres something helpful that i dont know about)

ok the clean install of the graphics drivers appears to have fixed it (at least for planet side 2)

and it turns out that sli was disabled so it might still be broken

ok it was still broken
i removed the xfx pinegroup 295 and ran a few games with only the asus graphics card (with sli enabled) no problems

it is evidently something wrong with the sli itself...
would it be the bridge? is the one i have broken in some way? or do i need to update my bios for some reason?
there are three expansion slots made for graphics cards one right at the bottom apprently is X16 but runs in X4 mode (?) the other two are X16 but apprently run at X8 if both are occupied

well... i think it is safe to say i am well and truely out of my depth here...

i just noticed the 1mhz difference in the two cards memory clock
nvidia say the stock clock should be 999 mhz could a slight difference like this cause such problems?

and i probably should have mentioned that my power supply unit is a 1000 watt cougar CMX so i'm pretty sure it has enough juice...
