HI, I will have 3 27" ASUS monitors arriving tomorrow. I have currently EVGA GTX 470 x2 (SLI) Will I be able to use the Nvidia "surround" with this setup as is? Not sure how thwy will actually connect? I have 3 DVI cables, 3 HDMI cables and 2 DP adapters. So I have options.. Thanks

Solution
The 400 series only supports 2 monitors per card so you'd have 2 on the first card and 1 on the second. It needs to be one of the same ports as the first card is using. They make it really easy to configure in the nvidia control panel, even saying which ports can and can't be used.

It's adding the monitor's res together. 3x1920=5760 for horizontal while height is still the same, 1080, assuming you are doing landscape on 3x1080p monitors.
Pretty sure the 470 has 2 DVI and 1 HDMI (might be a mini HDMI- if so you will need an adaptor) connection.. you would just plug that combination in. You will be limited pretty bad by vram if you plan to play games at 5760x1080 res with 1.25 Gb of vram though.

Any combination of cable connections will work fine with surround if the card has the port it will work.

Can I ask why I would select such a huge resolution? I don't know that's why Im asking, I thought it would just be 1080p? Guessing its 1900X3? Dam I hope my PC can handle that..

Well you can still play games on one monitor if you want... it will just be 1920x1080... but with 3 monitors you have the option of turning on surround - this will treat your 3 monitors as if they are one letting you play your game across all 3 of them.

intel i7 4770k
1000Watt PS
GTX 470 SLI
16GB DDR3 Memory 1600

Hope its fast enough...
