Hi there I recently posted on here regarding Windows 10 not booting. After much investigation it turned out my old gtx470 had given up. As this was unexpected I was working on a budget and got a good deal on a gtx1050ti. Is this a decent upgrade or will I not notice much difference...opinions please?

That looks copy pasted from GPUboss, which is a terrible way to compare GPUs.

Anyway, the GTX 1050 Ti provides around twice the performance of the GTX 470.
GTX470 vs GTX 1050ti :

Much higher clock speed 1,290 MHz vs 700 MHz Around 85% higher clock speed

Significantly higher effective memory clock speed 7,008 MHz vs 3,348 MHz More than 2x higher effective memory clock speed

Better PassMark score 5,972 vs 3,598 More than 65% better PassMark score

More memory 4,096 MB vs 1,280 MB Around 3.2x more memory

Higher pixel rate 41.3 GPixel/s vs 19.6 GPixel/s More than 2x higher pixel rate

Much higher memory clock speed 1,752 MHz vs 837 MHz More than 2x higher memory clock speed

Better sky diver factor score 331.99 vs 219.61 More than 50% better sky diver factor score

Slightly better floating-point performance 1,981.4 GFLOPS vs 1,254.4 GFLOPS Around 60% better floating-point performance

Slightly higher texture rate 61.9 GTexel/s vs 39.2 GTexel/s Around 60% higher texture rate

Better T-Rex score 5.43 frames/s vs 3.25 frames/s More than 65% better T-Rex score

Better PassMark direct compute score 3,262 vs 1,321 Around 2.5x better PassMark direct compute score

More shading units 768 vs 448 320 more shading units

Much lower TDP 75W vs 215W 2.9x lower TDP

Obviously I didn't just do those tests myself, and I think they're informative for the OP because they are factual specs.

GPUboss is a horrible site for comparing gpus(as mentioned above) and if you are going to plagiarize someone elses work atleast cite them for it.
