To be quick i have gtx 480 that i got from my robotics teacher. I put it in my desktop and it ran fine for a month or two. but then i decided to tinker around in my system and while i was hooking up my fans i accidently sparked a 12 and 5 volt wire together while my gpu was plugged in (my motherboard was not). thus led to my gpu not being reconized. the fan spins up and the card begins to get warm (I think) but no matter what port i plug the dvi or hdmi cable into, the darn thing wont show up on the screen :( . not only that but when i plug the vga cable it into the motherboard the screen DOES show up! ARG lol. this has been tested in multiple systems and same result but here were my system specs:

GPU: Gtx 480
CPU: A8-5500
MB: fm2 Jasmine
PSU: Thermaltake 600W
Case: Don't Remember the name XD
These are the pics of the gpu and i cant notice anything wrong but maybe somebody else can :/
