Hi,

I've been getting a random BSOD (once a week or so) on my GTX 480 for a while now. When the BSOD is over, and the PC reboots, the screen stays off but I do hearing the beeping sound from the motherboard. I need to switch off from the power mains for a minute or so then the GPU kicks in again after the BSOD.

The one thing I did notice with this BSOD is the following 'nvlddmkm.sys'.

Could the card be slightly faulty? Driver issue perhaps? Whats odd is the card doesn't kick in after the BSOD.

I've kept this thread simple as i've pretty much ruled out all other possibilities, ram, psu etc.

Is your nvidia driver the 320.18?
Many ppl and many forums are saying that this ver' is problematic. If it is you should uninstall it and rollback to 314.22 driver version.

Anyway try to rollback to last known working driver.

Pls update us in any case Good Luck

GeForce R331 Game Ready Driver is the current drivers i'm using. I'm gaming when it happens. Though i've played for hours and no BSOD. Yesterday, I had BSOD 10 minutes into the game, that being Arma 3.

As other mention try rolling back the drivers maybe rolling back your os such as system restore before this all happen inspect your card is it dirty full of dust ect clean with aire and reseat it and try again .. worse case remove any heatsinks on the card if you can clean old thermal paste off get you some good thermal paste I am still using artic silver 5 for gpu and cpu and replace the thermal compound small pea size amounts hope this helps

Hi, i currently have the Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme Plus II VGA Cooler on my GPU. I have not noticed any artifacting or overheating. The max temp my GPU gets to is 65c.
