i got a computer that I used to have. I found 2 gtx 550 tis’ in SLI. I also found an Intel core two quad processor. I bought a ddr3 8gb ram card as there wasn’t any ram cards there. All the wiring is ok. The cards are the one with 1 mini hdmi and 2 dvi female ports. I connect a dvi cable from the monitor (samsung S22C200) and I turn on the computer. The computer is on and working but the monitor doesn’t. I try with an HP 2010i and nothing. Is there any adapter I need or something? Let me know. ( I also tried with just one card and the board I have is a p5e3 ws pro and a rose will power supply xtreme RX950-D-B)

That motherboard does not support 8GB memory modules. It ONLY supports low density 256mb, 512mb, 1gb, and 2gb ECC and non-ECC unbuffered DDR3 DIMMs.

An 8GB DIMM will not work with that motherboard. That is most likely where your problem is. You need compatible memory. It WILL NEED to be low density most likely.

Older DDR3 is low density. Newer DDR3 is high density. There are a FEW boards that support both types but most motherboards support only one type or the other depending on the age and chipset type of the motherboard.
Given the age of those graphics cards, it would not be AT ALL surprising if they were both simply dead. They are both 9 years old AND if they were used in SLI that means they were likely run hard, which makes it further likely that there could be problems. In general though, 9 years is a pretty long time for cards of that era to still be good by now with no significant degradation of the capacitors.

Did you check BOTH cards individually on both systems? Did you remember to connect any required auxiliary power connectors to the graphics card. Most of those required at least a six pin connector. Did you install the single card in the top most x16 slot, the longest slot closest to the CPU?

Did you connect your display cable TO the graphics card, and not to the motherboard?

I did check both cards on both monitors and each one with it’s proper fan running. And I did connect the 6 pin connectors. My motherboard needs a graphics card and doesn’t have an input itself.
