Hey there, i'm looking to upgrade my current Graphics card, currently i'm sitting with a GTS 250 512mb.
I've been told good things about the GTX 460 cards and that my system is definately compatible to run one.
However, I was thinking, rather than upgrade again in the near future, would I better going for a GTX 560-580 card? And most of all, would I be able to run one?

My system-
AMD x4 955 CPU
M3A32-MVP Deluxe 790FX motherboard
4GB of Ram
750 Watt PSU-2 Six pin power connectors.

I'm planning on buying either or in the next week or two, so any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yeah the GTX 460's are amazing budget cards.

But if you dont mind, what do you plan on doing with this card? Gaming, Video editing... etc.

and what resolution is your monitor at? If your monitor isnt at a high resolution then getting anything higher then 560 might be overkill but will last you a long while and you'll save money in the long run.

Also your psu is perfect. Most highend cards dont require anything more then a 500 watt up untill i think the 560. The 590 only needs a 700 watt psu.

Thanks for the response! I intend on using it for both really, mainly gaming. At the minute my monitor is kinda crap, 1280x1024, until I get ahold of something better. My last monitor packed in after a nasty fall.

I might just go for something in the 500 range then, perhaps a 560 like you said, since I can't see myself ever forking out the money for a high end monitor.

So, overall, do you think my system could run a GTX 560 card without any bother? Again, thanks for the quick response! :)

Hey no Problem, And oh yeah your system will definitely be able to run a 560... actually any graphics card. Your motherboard is amazing, Its capable of running 3 cards in sli or crossfire. and the ram is perfect 4gb is plenty you'll never use it all up at once unless you run like 30 applications all at one time.

and I would recommend either the EVGA GTX 560 Ti DS Super clocked or the MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin frozr 2. They are pretty much the same card. But if you ever want to overclock it will keep the card very cool and go for a nice price at around 250 dollars. And since you have the 2 fans on both of the models they dont need to work as hard compared to just one fan, in turn making it a quiet card.

Awesome! I was actually looking at those two cards on Scan, I think i'll preorder the Twin Frozr model once i'm able! Really grateful for the help, Aleks! \o/
