GTX 560Ti vs HD 6950

Finishing up my last bits of a new build.. just need GPU

GTX 560Ti vs HD 6950

Current Hardware:

Processor: Intel Core i5 2500k
HSF: CoolerMaster Hyper 212+
Mobo: Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 ATX
RAM: Gskill RipjawsX 2x4GB 1.5V CAS9 1600Mhz


Should I go with the 560Ti or the HD 6950 and what power supply would I need?

Games I'll be playing: SC2:BF33angya (curse you girlfriend )

Depends if you wanne have physx, if not i would take the 6950. PSU ; at least 600W, if you wanne sli later 800 or more. Single stable rail with at least 40A ( more if sli ). 80+ certified. Antec, Corsair, Seasonic.

The 6950 is a bit stronger than the GTX 560 Ti, but the 560 Ti has Physx, so it comes down to preference.

I agree with these comments. The scarcity of the HD6950 has driven up prices and they are difficult to find. So you're looking at $240 with a rebate vs close to $300. I'd go with the GTX560ti, but I am an AMD fan so I just hope there are a few 6950's around when I can afford it.

HD 6950 being faster in case of FPS in games looses technology lyke PhysX and CUDA, 3D Vision.
