GTx 570 1.2GB v GTX 560TI 1GB

As topic says, two cards up against each other - how much better is the GTX 570 card? Is the 560 card "Good enough" for Skyrim / Battlefied3 with everything on max on 1080p res?

i doubt the 560ti will be good enough to max out BF3 at 1080p with good fps, it cant max out crysis 2 with the dx11 patch, the gtx570 can however (without AA) but its more expensive. Why does everyone always need to set everything to max? most of the time the difference between MAX and the setting just below max is not visually noticable but gives you much better FPS.

"max" is just a saying, I want "extremely high" - but if the 560 is unable to run crysis then 570 it is!

However, I only have a 550w PSU- will it be enough to power the 570, an ssd, an hd, intel i5 2500k, 8gb ram??

If by max you mean full eye candy then i'm sure neither will be able to provide that level of performance.The GTX570 is probably the closest your going to get to it though.

What is the make/model of your 550watt?

I have a 560 Ti, played crysis 2 maxed and was decent fps for me 26 minimum. 1080p.

The only game i cant max is Metro 2033. (PSU model required as mentioned b4).

Dont know about BF3, but Skyrim will most likely run np (as its a console version as main 😀).

As far as i know, an oced 560 Ti is even better than a 570, but thats sorta hard to prove 100%.

Depends on whether or not you can SLi in the future. I have two 460 1GB's and max Crysis 2 out w/DX11&HiRez with 60fps average. This is also with Phenom IIX4 965 and 4GB DDR2 1066! So with that CPU and 560 combo you would prob get more like 75... If you can SLi in the future go for the 60, if not, 70 is your best bet.

There're a few games - Crysis 2, Just Cause 2 and a few others I can't remember - that 560 Ti indeed can't max out. Until you switch off V-Sync... then everything is butter smooth. Sure, Crysis 2 will stutter if you're shooting at the water while being in it... but for the price you pay for that card, that's amazing. People get much more expensive setups for that game.
