Hi all! Bit of a strange one here... I recently moved from South Africa to Vietnam, took the internals of my pc along. MOBO is an MSI z77a G43, GPU is a Gainward GTX 570, running Windows 10. I've built it again, however I don't have a 'proper' PC monitor right now.

The flat I'm renting has a Sony TV with HDMI inputs. My work laptop, my lady's work laptop and my PC's onboard GPU connect to the TV with no problem, however the GTX 570 does not, and it did work back in SA. It doesn't seem like the GTX is borked... the PC posts and loads with no issue, device manager sees it, if I uninstall/reinstall the drivers, it sees the card with no issue. I've even Teamviewered into it from my laptop with the cable in the GTX port, and it can open Nvidia Control Panel which usually doesn't work if nothing is connected. However, the control panel is pretty much blank, none of the usual options.

My one big issue is that for some reason, when plugged into the onboard, the TV does not display anything until Windows loads, so I'm unable to fiddle in the BIOS. Not too sure if that's a major issue, it wasn't disabled in SA and the HDMI worked fine.

Right now, buying a monitor is not really feasible, and I currently only have HDMI and this TV as an option. I can get a DVI - HDMI adapter, but just wanted to see if there was anything I could be missing. I've tried all the troubleshooting I can think of, uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, doing that through Teamviewer with the cable plugged into the GTX in case it somehow 'found' it, restarted with the cable plugged in etc. Is there perhaps some way to 'force' HDMI within Windows (as the Nvidia panel is blank, there's no rigourous option). And could it be possible that the DVI can work, but the HDMI port be borked?

Thanks for any help!

Sounds like the integrarated intel GPU is set as the primary graphics adapter so when you boot up with the tv connected to the 560 its treating the tv as a secondary display that you haven't put anything onto yet or have not configure4d as an extended desktop.

Connect the to intel. boot into bios and look for a 'Primary Graphics' or GPu setting and switch it to Pcie or PEG. Save and exit then shutdown. Install the 560 and connect it to the tv and boot back up.

I hope this works for you.
