My 570 is starting to show its age ... When it comes to video cards i'm not too tech savvy so i can use some help..

im somewhat of a gamer... GTA , Battlefront, battlefield 1 , starcraft , doom, dreadnaught

My specs are:

i7-3770
12gb/ ddr3-1600
gtx 570

What do you all suggest to get to upgrade the card? Looking to spend under 300

Well I'll address the elephant in the room. Currently it is a TERRIBLE time to want to buy a new GPU, specifically of the GTX 1060/1070 series or RX 570/580 series. They are way overpriced thanks to cryptomining and in short supply. In fact, the GTX 1070 is priced to within 90% of a GTX 1080. And 6GB GTX 1060s are selling for $100-$150 over original MSRP.

If I was in the market for a new GPU upgrade and couldn't wait, I'd seriously look at the used market. Sellers on eBay have GTX 980TIs for $350 or so which is close to what 6GB 1060s are selling for. Of course the danger there is buying a GPU that was abused for 7x24 mining. Again, bad time to want a new GPU right now unless going high end (1080 and 1080Ti or low end (1050 and 1050Ti).

nothing

a gtx 1070 is an upgrade, your cpu is not good enough to handle that if it is not overclocked

That's not true even a tiny bit. I upgraded from a 2600K - 8GB DDR3 1600 ( on a P67 board with PCI-E 2.0 at that ) to a 6700K-16GB DDR4 3200 and kept my 980 Ti. At best my FPS went up by about 4 or 5 average. I do have a 1440p monitor though. At 1080p it would have been more noticeable.

A 6GB GTX 1060 would be a nice upgrade. I haven't looked at prices recently. Are they still high from the mining craze?

I'd put a 1070 in that system without a second thought. Probably over your budget though. Overclocking wouldn't hurt but even at stock speeds you're OK.

^ Yep. Something like a used 980 Ti is a great value at ~$300-$350 and they aren't likely to have been used for mining. 980 Ti is roughly equal to a 1070. I've had mine a little over 2 years and just can't justify an upgrade since it still maxes everything I've played at 1440p.

Actually if you can get a 6GB 1060 for $260 that about normal pre mining price isn't it? I'd do that.

Yeah I had 970 SLI is what just ahead of a 980Ti for 1440p. I sold my 970s for $480, which was about $180 more than they were worth used two months ago. I took that money and got a 1080Ti. I figured it's now or never and couldn't wait for next year's Volta. I'm moving up to a 144Hz G-Sync 1440p monitor which is why I upgraded GPUs.

And I just checked NewEgg (US website). Prices are all over the map on the 6GB 1060. I see some for $260 and others for over $400. Nuts.

1050 ti is a downgrade

a gtx 1060 6gb is a bit of an upgrade, may not be worth it depending on price

He said gtx 570 not rx 570. A gtx 1050 ti would be a huge upgrade (about 50%)

Sheesh yup thought it was a rx 570 XD

a gtx 1050 ti is a decent upgrade to a gtx 570

For now I recommend buying a used gtx 970 (for about 200$) somewhere on craigslist or ebay. When GPU prices drop or the new Vega GPUs come out, sell your gtx 970 and buy a new GPU.
