Hiya Forum,

I currently have the following:

1GB EVGA GTX 460 SC
430W Corsair PSU
6GB RAM (cannot recall the vendor/spec)
ASUS P7P55-M
Intel i5 760 (Lynnfield Quad Core) 2.8GHZ

I have been given a GTX 580 graphics card and I am going to replace my existing GTX 460.

The PSU requirements on the GTX 580 box is 600W but I only have a 430W.

My question is, can I safely install and run the GTX 580 with my existing spec. without blowing anything?

Many thanks

Gareth

if your willing to be responsible, then by all means recommend it.

It really depends on what 450W PSU you used. The GTX 580 is quite close on power consumption to GTX 780, so he's cutting it even further.
