GTX 645 Overclocking Question

Thanks for stopping by! So basically I have a GTX 645 OEM GPU in my Dell system and I have been overclocking this card for a while now and have been VERY happy with my results (+160 Core/ +500 Mem. all at max of 59°C! 😀). But I can't change the voltage or power limit slider in MSI Afterburner. Is this since I'm using a pre-built system w/ BIOS limitations and stuff or just because the GPU doesn't physically have and other connections other than the PCIe slot for more power? Any help would be great! Thanks!

OEM GPU's from Dell systems don't have the voltage or power limit unlocked.. Sorry but you cant go further than that. If you want to overclock your GPU you need an aftermarket GPU such as Zotac, MSI, ASUS, ect,ect...

Ok thanks for the reply, but I already have my card overclocked, I'm just wondering if the reason I can't use the power limit slider in afterburner is because of the Dell motherboard. Oh and is there any way to actually overload the PCIe slots from too much power draw?? Please reply again!

No I don't think so, just make sure you have a motherboard that handles overclocking....

Alright, that clears thing up for me. I think the GTX 645's power draw is only 65W and the max and PCIe slot can give is 75W so there's no problem there. Thanks again!

Just adding some info here as I used this thread as a bit of a guide. I am putting a slight overclock on this card as well, I upgraded my main GPU in my home rig and moved the GTX 645 to my office computer.

So far at +170hz Core Clock and +600 Memory Clock with great results and keeping temps low. I upped the fan speed to 50% and it made a big difference. Hope this helps others in the future.
