The title is pretty much it.

AMD Radeon HD 7850 - 2GB - HIS IceQ X - Cooler, Quieter

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost - 2GB - EVGA Superclocked - Core: 1072MHz

Solution
You definitely should go with the HD7870 ghz. They're all very power efficient and quiet, plus lots of overclock headroom too if you're in to that kind of stuff. Based on this review "http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_680/28.html"

The HD7870 ghz beats every other card out there for Performance/Watt, even the GTX680 is beat by double-digits.

And if i can recall correctly, i don't have a source though, since Catalyst 12.11 some reviewers described the HD7870 ghz as "a total new card" with performance boost of 10-20% in some games!!! I'm pretty confident to say that the HD7800s GPU should be the gamer's choice as the HD7900s are more of a compute-enhanced. AMD is making the same mistake as Nvidia did with their GTX580...
get gtx 650ti boost it is faster than hd 7850 by slight

Thanks a ton but this website says the opposite. Help? http://www.hwcompare.com/13797/geforce-gtx-650-ti-2gb-vs-radeon-hd-7850/

HWcompare is a statistic driven site they take the advertised info of the graphics card and do ideal maths calculations which doesn't always translate to real word performance. like i said earlier they are pretty much matched so you can't go wrong with either

Based on this graph, the HD7850 pretty much destroy the GTX 650 ti boost except textel rate by a little.

Also: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6838/nvidia-geforce-gtx-650-ti-boost-review-/13

the HD 7850 is more power efficient and quieter in some cases. I feel like that the gtx 650 ti boost is a rushed product.

Thanks. I do however have two displays for this computer build (a 1920x1080 and a 1440x900) and the calculations for the AMD seem to be faster for the two displays I have (is this accurate?). Plus the 7850 has a cooler and a quieter, which I enjoy very much. I will be using this computer for gaming (e.x. Minecraft, Just Cause 2, Black Ops II, etc.) and recording for youtube video at the same time. I would be very interested in some more help because I'm new. Thanks.

The HD 7850 2gb edge out the GTX 650 ti Boost 2gb with its 256-bit bus width w/GDDR5 so if you're planning to record it directly when you're playing, then you're better of with the AMD solution. You could upgrade to a HD7870 ghz too if it's in your budget

Hmm only 20 bucks more. Worth it? I have a $1500 budget. What I currently plan to buy is $1,408 (with the 7870) for the computer. Then $109 for a monitor... Hmm, 17 bucks over budget is okay I guess because I have a best buy gift card laying around here somewhere for the monitor anyways :) Thanks, sure I should I get the 7870?

AMD is making the same mistake as Nvidia did with their GTX580 (GF110), wasting transistor and space for compute engines. It's funny how both the Pitcrain and Taithi both have 32 ROPs so technically the HD7900s are being slightly bottlenecked. In terms of GPGPU, don't worry, even though it has been Double-Precision crippled, it has higher DP Flops than GTX680 (lol!)

reason why i kinda of promoting the HD7870 ghz so much is purely performance/watt and performance/price rato! (perf/watt king is Titan i think...)

Edit: my bad....

the HD 7870ghz is THE KING of performance/watt ratio :)

You can surely pm me if you wanna have some more info!

Thanks a ton! I had decided now to go to the 7870 anyways but I was a little iffy about it. Now I'm sure it will be worth it :)

Haha! no problem, hope you'll like it! Give me a +1 will ya? 😀

you'll be technically using the most efficient GPU available today (check my edit)!

What a load of crap, performance per watt? Really? You seriously think the 7870 compares to a 7900 series card at all performance wise? You sir need to put down the crack pipe.
