GTX 650 ti Boost 2gb weird beeping and frame rate issue

First off I'll post my PC specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 520w
GPU: Asus Geforce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L
RAM: Crucial 2x2GB DDR2
HDD: Samsung HD403LJ 400GB

It all started when my old graphics card (GT 8600) died. I bought the 650 and after installing it started to send loud beeps, but only when playing games or using lot of computer resources. First I thought it's the PSU's problem because my old power supply was only 230w (on the GTX's box it says it requires 450w). So I bought a SPM2 bronze certified. But now the problem is still there and when I tried to play a game (Planetside2) I got terrible frame rate issue. I opened my PC box to check if the GPU was hot (It was normal) but the HDD was really hot. That's all I was able to find out about this problem. If you need some more information I'll try to gather it.

P. S. This might be a weird request but if you could, please provide as much information about the problem and why it happened, I might need it in the near future when I build a new PC. Thanks again.

Check in your BIOS to see if you have a CPU warning set for a certain temperature. My computer beeps on really hot days while gaming because I have a warning beep set to go off at 70C or higher. If you didn't set a warning there may be one by default.

I checked the BIOS for GPU temperature but could only find CPU temperature settings. Is this what I was looking for?

Edit: Nevermind... I thought I was looking for GPU settings :\

Use MSI afterburner to check GPU temps and core temp or speedfan to check CPU temps.

OK thanks guys. I worked it out. It indeed was the temperature warning. I set it to 80 C in the BIOS. Everything looks great, even the frame rate problem is gone. Thanks again for everyone who helped me out.

That is more of a work around more then anything. I suggest you try to get the temperature down.

Is the heatsink mounted correctly and free of dust?
