Bit of an odd question but I currently have three 19" 1280x1024 monitors and I plan on getting a new system soon. Something I was thinking of is taking all of them and putting them in Nvidia surround.(Sadly they are all vga displays so interfacing them will be hard on one GPU) But I am wondering if you guys think a gtx 660 will handle a normal games at this res. Will I need a second GPU? I can get a 770 for slightly less than the cost of two 660s but I think that two 660's will be more future proof. (Which is important because I am about to become a lowly college student with no money and upgrading will probably be out of the question here pretty soon.

I have an R9 270x and can run most games at 3840x1024. I would recommend spending a little extra and getting at least r9 270x. It will perform much better than a gtx 660 and it won't be much more expensive. do you already have the gtx 660?

No I don't yet. Currently I have an ATI 4850. It be a bit derpy. i can play GTA 4 on low at 30 fps.
