Hi, all i can see ads on some FB selling page for a
i5 3400/3470 and some sandy/ivy bridge cpus with 8GB ram 500GB tempered glass case and a 660 i want to play fortnite pubg gta v and some other e-sports for this at 720p (specifically 768p) for $280 so is it still worth getting?
(for $320 i rarely see the above specs with a 760 in in this case speninding an extra $40 is ok for this right? so yeah same question the 760 for 2018 i heard its GTX 950-1050 ish perf.)

Hi, a GTX760 owner here. I've owned that card for 3 years and have completed some games with it. Here is what i can tell:

For e-sports it's a beast. At 1080p i had ~200fps on league of legends easily, overwatch at 1440p@60fps no problem.
I've also tried GTA5 at 1080p: vanilla game (no mods) runs flawlessly at medium/high settings 60fps, but with Redux 4k textures i had 7-10fps, so this GPU won't run mods that update graphics of the game.
I've completed Doom:2016 at 1080p (with resolution scale of 75-80% which is close to 768p) - at high textures and lowest shadows i had flawless 60fps 95% of the time.
About pubg/fortnite - can't tell, haven't tried these two on my GTX760. There should be plenty of info on the internet.

GTX760 will...
It's a good price only if you're planning on staying at 720p. Anything above that you would likely want more horsepower, so as long as there isn't a huge drive for you to upgrade to 1080p you should be ok with that.

How about if go for the 760 instead it’s an extra $40 and gives me 950-1050 like perf. Would that fair better? I plan to stay at 720p but will upgrade to 1080p in the future

GTX760 will do very well at 768p at almost any game (it has a 10/10 rating for 768p resolution according to gamedebate.com). GTX760 offers 20% better performance than GTX660 and is on par with GTX950. I think GTX1050 is a bit stronger and is not equal in performance to 7th gen mid-range card.
If you're not planning on playing newest AAA titles, a GTX760 should suffice as long as you're aiming for 720/768p or 1080p with lowered settings.
