GTX 660 Now Released, get it or the 7850?

A simple question really,
What should I get?

Get the HD7850. Nvidia isnt competitive until you get to the 660Ti, and even thats been undercut by the 7950's price drop.
Also doesn't help that so far the GTX660 and 650 are just rumors, no official release date or any reviews on it.

Thats twice now Tweaktown have had early reviews for Nvidia cards.

But anyway, the 660 seems to perform better than a 7850, but it will cost ~$50 more so that's justified. The review did end by saying that the HD7870 and GTX660 were ~equal, and they are at price as well.

Guess it comes down to how much you want to spend, and whether you prefer AMD or Nvidia. Still no word I can find on its release date either.

Where does it say that? I cant find any mention of a release date in that Tweaktown review (that's only 4hrs old by the way) or through general Google searching.

I am fairly sure more than a single review (and if the 660Ti review is any indication, possibly not legal) would have come out if it was only a week from release.

Get the 7850, a great card at a great price. It will play almost any game on max settings at 1080p, and you won't be disappointed. Nvidea are only delaying the release while they butcher the 660ti.

If you want all that cool features for gaming like adaptive v-sync, txaa and have a 1080p monitor, then go for 660 ti.

yes 660 is ofcourse more powerful than 7850. it sits somewhere between 7870 and 7950. but 7850 is the best value right now. if you wanna save money go for 7850 else just get 7950.

Apparently those charts are from Nvidia themselves, and there is no background information on the tests other than "1920x1080".
I would be suspicious of those results. The games included are skewed toward Nvidia cards, they could have downplayed the AMD cards strengths in Anti-Aliasing and superior memory bus, and its great overclock ability as well.

Also given that the GTX660 is going to be ~$250, while the 7850 is $200. I would expect better performance.

Higher Memory Clock

7850
More ROPS
Higher Memory Bus
Higher Memory Bandwidth

Lower Price
