Hi everyone! I've got an interesting question for you...I've noticed that rigth now the price for a gtx 770 is about the same as for 2 gtx 660. So considering that, would you recommend getting 2 660's and setting them in SLI or the single 770?
The single 770 will give great performance and leaves room for SLI, which 2x 760 doesn't.
but both still leading to SLI. if that's the case why not going for sli from the get go? 😀
Because it closes an upgrade opportunity. Which is cheaper, getting 2x660s only to upgrade them both in 2-3 years or getting a 770 now and paying about 200$ for a new one a few years down the road? And what Sancco said.

But then you are locked in on performance and it will be harder to upgrade in the future
well it depends on the situation. on my previous setup i was using a single GTX460 and it last me around two years. so i want upgrade in performance. do i get a second 460 or is it better to go for a new generation card which not only faster than my 460 but also consume less power? 😀
the thing is when going for multi gpu i often see people suggesting get one of the fastest single card you can afford now and get the second after 1 or 2 years later. in one year time to get the second card still acceptable but after two years it might not. other than that people want a solution that can go as fast as (or faster) than the flagship model but don't really have the money for it. sometimes going CF/SLI from the get go using midrange card able to achieve that while costing less than the flagship model.
