Hey guys,
Right, I know this question has been asked before, but I have another question that needs clarification.
Basically, my friend is looking to buy either a GTX 660 or a HD 7870 ghz edition.
He's found an MSI TwinFrozr GTX660 for £150, and a Sapphire 7870 ghz edition for £165.
Now, that's the cheapest 7870 he could find (except XFX, which I advised him to steer clear from, for reasons I'm sure you folks are aware of), and he can't spend any more than that, so these are his only two choices.
He asked me to find out whether or not the "black screen sound loop" issue with Sapphire's 7870 series had been resolved. I read on the Sapphire forum that they had resolved it, but they didn't mention if they had recalled all 7870s in circulation to be "fixed", or if you just have to contact Sapphire if you happen to receive a faulty card.
As such, my friend doesn't know if it's worth the risk of buying this 7870, based on the fact that it could be a faulty one.
If anyone knows anything about this, I'd be extremely grateful to hear about it.
Thanks in advance
