Hello all, I have been having this problem for awhile now and cannot seem to pinpoint the fix for it!. Whenever I play games, and its only during games, sometimes my computer will crash to either a random solid color screen or it will just tell me there is no video cable connected. The audio will also blast the one tone that was playing during the crash. This used to happen alot in F1 2013 until I turned off anti-aliasing in the game settings. Some have suggested it may be a PSU issue, but I have an 850W PSU from Corsair that I bought from newegg that was paired with the card! Any help is appreciated!
Here are the PC specs:
Operating System
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
CPU
Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHz 45 °C
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology
RAM
16.0 GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 647MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard
ASRock Z77 Extreme3 (CPUSocket) 36 °C
Graphics
HP w2207 (1680x1050@59Hz)
Intel HD Graphics 3000
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti
Hard Drives
112GB KINGSTON SH103S3120G (SSD) 30 °C
699GB Seagate ST3750630AS (SATA) 34 °C
Optical Drives
ATAPI DVD A DH24ABS
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio
PSU
Corsair 850W Gold

I also don't think it is heat related because I have EVGA precision X and my temps never get over 60C

Solution

I purchased a Corsair liquid cooling system for it and I've been playing all the games that gave me trouble to see if I can get any to lock it up. None so far. those spec numbers I originally gave were at idle at the desktop, now under load it won't even blip 40 C. You may have solved a problem that has been...
Your cpu is getting too hot. Could be contributing.

Blow out your case - especially fans, coolers and filters.

Jack up the cpu cooler fan rpm and try again.

If the temp is down below 40C and its still happening, then try another card in your pc. And try your card in another pc.

Does integrated graphics work OK? If so, its most likely a graphics card problem.

Alright, so I downloaded Speedfan, which reported my CPU fan was at 0 RPM. It's gotta b wrong right? Theres no way! Sure enough, I open it up and there sits that Coolermaster Evo fan at 0RPM. I don't know if it's my motherboard out on the CPU fan socket, or if it is the fan itself, but the fan was much more difficult to turn then the rest of the fans in my case. Maybe it got too much dust in the motor system and slowed til it just fried itself? Half of me is tempted to get a whole new CPU liquid cooler and redo the thermal paste and all because this is the first PC I've ever built and I believe i may have been a little to *generous* with the paste. Either way I will be making a Fry's run tomorrow to see if a working CPU fan fixes my problem!
