GTX 670 became unstable (?)

So I was overclocking my gtx 670 today. I did the small increments, and waited for stability before proceeding. I used MSI Afterburner.

All was well; I was getting around 900 score on the Heaven 4.0 benchmark:

1920x1080 full screen
8x AA
Ultra Textures
Extreme Tess.


After doing some benchmarking and letting my GPU rest, I decided to load up skyrim, and noticed my FPS dropped miserably. I then ran the Heaven Benchmark again, same one, and noticed I was getting 10 fps.

Did my 670 become unstable at some point without me realizing? I'm not sure what happened.

what was your temps when this happened? Did you have afterburner still running? If you don't have software load with windows, the OC and fan profiles will not engage
