GTX 670 Crash with new SLI Setup

Okay, so i have 2 of the SAME exact card. Both are Nvidia GTX 670 FTW 2GB versions. However, they have different PCBs. When i connect them for SLI, they black out while playing a game like Skyrim and automaticly restart my computer with a report saying it was a Blue Screen. I've tried running the cards flipped the other way on those slots, and it still crashes. I took the newer card and ran it alone, and it worked fine. I took the older card and ran it alone, and it did the crashing in SLI. The thing is, before i bought the second newer one, the old one was working perfectly normal til the new one came along. It's like the new one messed up the old one. What should i do? So i call EVGA to get it fixed or is there something else that can be done? I'm new to SLI.

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers? Sometimes SLI/CF support doesn't seem to install correctly without both cards existing when they are installed.

Yes i have. I've done the clean installation with the latest driver that just came out abit ago. It is still doing this.

Try connecting the bridge to the other set of connectors. This same issues has come up a few times in the last couple weeks, and it seemed to be fixed by connecting the bridge to the other set of connectors. I don't know if this is how they are designed or what.

I've been using a 3-Way SLI bridge. You mean use the single bridge on the second slot instead of the first?

You can't use a 3-way bridge for 2 cards. It will not work.

This is actually good news. Now you have a way to fix it laid out in front of you.

The reason i was using the 3-way SLI bridge is cause i need the cards on the first, and third slot. Almost done..

They do make larger 2-way bridges. 100mm bridges work for that sort of setup.

ALright. I did as you told me. I tried the regular bridge on both the first and second slots and it still crashes/blacks out. X__X

Even if you try to run Furmark or Skyrim it will black out/restart with the setup.

Now that is not good news. I could check for motherboard bios updates, but there is a decent change one of your cards has something wrong with it.

I'm going to point fingers at the first one i bought... Yet, strange.. It was fine before i bought the second card, which has the newer PCB on it than the first one. I even blamed this issue on the motherboard, but when it came back from RMA through Gigabyte, it was still doing this same thing. At that time, i was blaming it on the third PCI-Express Slot. But that slot seems fine when i ran the 'newer' card on that slot by itself.

The board has the latest bios "F7" on it.

You could check GPU-Z to make sure they are running at the proper bus interface speed.

I have to call Gigabyte now and tell them to cancel the motherboard replacement which was suppose to arrive here Wednesday, now that i know it's not the board.

Yeah i have that program. Right now they're running together with SLI enabled and appear fine. (until you attempt to run something on it then crash)

What does the bus interface show for each card?

The only thing i notice on the first tab, is that they have different Bios Versions. on the second tab, the second card (the older one) is running hotter. Twice as hot. New is like 28c and second card is like 68c

sometimes at the end of the bus interfere it will say 1.1 instead of 3.0 but this appears to happen on both cards. I dunno if that's normal

I did the render test, and it said the second card was doing 1.1 bus speed and the top one 3.0
