I was thrown for a loop here. In a previous thread, I had asked questions about a good GPU for around $300. After the replies and advice I got my heart set on a 670 and the price was ~ $329-339 then. While purchasing the first components and waiting for funds, I checked the prices again and they shot up like $40-$50! That definitely hurt. With that said, I'm going to be finishing my build hopefully in about a week or two, should I wait to see if prices go down in this timeframe or should I go ahead and bite the bullet on these current prices? is there anything you guys might know that I don't? I've really been sticking to newegg and looking for deals but I have a feeling there won't be one for these cards. After recieving the motherboard it's getting really hard to wait on the rest of these components!

If I were you, I'd definitely still go with a 670.

I did noticed the same thing with the price over the last week or two. There is a PNY GTX 670 on amazon for $360:

I would not hesitate to buy this brand. I had two of their GTX 580s running in SLI with no issues. PNY offers a lifetime warranty upon registration and a manufacturing plant in NJ if that means anything to you.

Yeah, I had that PNY on my saved wishlist on newegg, when it went up I was dumbfounded. I always thought prices went down, not up! I'll give it a few more days, maybe I'll get lucky somewhere.

Oh wow, so why is it so cheap? Because I wouldn't be paying for the box?

If there's any reason I shouldn't buy this card now, I'd like to hear it.. For some reason it seems sketchy. Also, it's showing a 6008mhz memory clock, compared to the $381 retail version that has 918mhz memory clock. Typo?

I would assume so, i almost purchased it but i like fancy boxes still waiting to order my 670 this offer is very tempting though.

If you read the specs

Core Clock 915 MHz
Memory Clock 6008 MHz

Its the same as the normal one

I like fancy boxes too but if I can avoid paying $70 for them I will. Seriously, there's got to be a catch or something..

5 minutes later.. I read the description at the bottom about OEM items. I was sold. I bought it. I'm bad about hoarding pretty boxes that do nothing for me anyways, so I'll be able to toss this one. BTW, thank you so much. You saved me about 50 bucks. So far, on this build I've saved $130 with the mobo, ram, gpu, psu, and case ordered without sacrificing any quality. Between you guys, newegg, and apparently tiger direct, this has been awesome thus far.
