Hey,
I'm sorry if this has been asked hundreds of times but I want to upgrade from my Gtx 560Ti (1gb) SLI setup as they aren't quite doing the job, unable to max out games, to either the Gtx 670 or the HD 7970 in which both are similar prices. Now i know that the nvidia cards have those extras such as Physx and CUDA.. etc, but do they really matter in gaming compared to the ATI cards? I wanted to upgrade for this year, while i wait for the 2014 Nvidia Maxwell cards or possibly the ATI cards and i would preferably like to stick to one card in order to save up for the new cards in 2014.
Specs:
-I game on a 24'' Samsung BX2450 at 1080p
-i7 950 (3.05ghz)
-MSI X58A-GD45
-6gb Kingston HyperX ram 2000Mhz
-750 antec earthwatts
-Thermaltake V6 case
Here are my choices:
HD 7970 (3GB):
-MSI OC $409
-Gigabyte OC $409 and there is a Ghz edition at a different shop for $475
-Asus (Direct CU 2) $449
Nvidia Gtx 670 (2GB):
-MSI OC $419
-Gigabyte OC $419
-Asus (DirectCU 2) $429
I have to experience in overclocking but if its pretty easy, i will try it
Thanks very much
