gtx 680 8 pin connector

hi im having a problem getting my gtx 680 connected. it needs a 6 pin and an 8 pin connection. got the 6 pin in fine but i cant get the 8 pin connector in. the square holes and slightly curved ones dont match up.

i can only find 1 8 pin and another thats split into two 4's. any suggestions?

i did manage to force it i a little but stopped as i thought it might damage the card. the psu is a xfx core edition (seasonic) 550w

That's the 8pin CPU plug. What PSU do you have?

Make sure you're not trying to plug the 8-pin EPS12V connector into the graphics card. That connector is for the CPU, and the pins are keyed differently to prevent plugging them into the wrong sockets - but excessive force may overcome that.

Be careful the 8 pin should be 6+2! It has a 8pin EPS that is CPU connector and is the wrong for the card.
