gtx 690 graphics card

In this list of graphics cards the gtx 690 is towards the best cards listed. Could you explain to me why the GTX 690 is so good, because im planning to buy a gtx 770

Because its two 770's on one PCB, essentially 770 SLI.

Bit past its time now though, the 780 or 780 Ti is a better pick if you are spending that kind of money.

It's the fastest/best card in the world, however it's not the fastest/best GPU in the world because it's technically two GPU's on one card. The best/fastest single GPU is the 780ti at this moment. The 770 is a great card, however it's not nearly as good as the 690 and 780ti in performance. But it's still a great card. If you are shelling out $1,000 just get the 780ti, more future proof and what not.

Thankyou. Also, if I am planning on buying the gtx 780ti than I need some recommendations on what processor to get. I was planning on buying the AMD fx8350 eight core processor.

If you haven't bought MB already, I'd suggest buying intel i5.

A nice intel i5 would be great. I have the i5 3570k and it works great, easy to overclock and doesn't get to hot. Great performance for ~$220. On the AMD side though, the AMD FX8350 is a great CPU, however I am not sure how well it works with overclocking and it takes a little more power. So go ahead and get the 8350 if you want, but if you want to go the intel route, go with one of the i5 k series processors. I say this because it's in the same price range of the 8350 if you don't have a price range you can get a nicer i7, but I don't see why you would, i5 does the job and is very reliable.

Nvidia 770 is nothing but a rebranded 680.

And Nvidia 690 is nothing but 2 x 680 in single PCB. Hence it it like two 680's in SLI.

So single 770 is not even close to dual 770.

But the 690 costs about $1000 and for that kind of money, you can SLI two 780's which is way better and more stable than the 770 in SLI. 780 SLI(ies) better than the 770. Also 780 SLI is way more powerful than 770 SLI.
