Hello, everyone! First off, I just want to say a genuine thank you for taking the time to read this. This issue has really screwed with my patience and mind for quite some time, now. I feel like if someone pays 1000$ for a GPU, they shouldn't get screwed. Here's the gist: I'm dropping to as low as 49 FPS in some spots of BF3. What the heck?! I hear about people running BF3 with a 2560 x 1600 setup with ONE 690 and getting 60+ FPS. Please note that I have not overclocked any aspect of my machine.

TL;DR: Dipping to 50 FPS in BF3 with GTX 690.

Specs:
i7 3820 3.6 GHz
16 GB 1866 MHz RAM DDR3
GTX 690
128 GB SSD (that's where BF3 is installed)

Thank you all so much!

I max out the AA. Average FPS would have to be 60... It's only certain spots that I drop (big open scenes). V-sync caps my FPS to 60. As for the PSU, I'm positive that it isn't bottlenecking the GPU. It's a very new computer. I'm sure it's 700+ W.

don't max out the AA, you could just be filling up the vram. a 4gb 690 has only 2gb useable as the ram is mirrored because its an SLI setup just on the on card. Get msi afterburner and run the game to a point where it slows down, alt tab out of the game and go to msi afterburner and check the vram useage, also while your at it check the temps, fan speed and clock speed. When these cards get too hot they throttle back. But I bet its a vram limitation, bf3 will use more than 2gb vram at that resolution with that much AA.
