I was wondering if a EVGA GTX 750 ti 2gb would fit in my DX4885 if not, I'm kinda shit out of luck. I've done some digging a found out it has something to do with your PCI and needing something specific on there.. (x16) or something of that nature.. So I'll post those specs here

And if it won't fit, which I'm fairley sure it will, could anyone give me possible solutions to be able to fit it? Thank you :wahoo:

PCI Data
Slot PCI-E
Slot Type PCI-E
Slot Usage Available
Data lanes x16
Slot Designation PCIE x16
Characteristics 3.3V, Shared, PME
Slot Number 0

EDIT: The reason I'm shit out of luck is because I've already bought it....

I've never heard the term 'DX4885' slot. Please can you provide make and model number for your motherboard?

Sorry, my DX4885 is my computer not my motherboard. This is my motherboard LGA1150

Ok, I've had a quick look on the Gateway website and found that model number PC. Unfortunately there aren't any documents showing what motherboard it has. Basically to fir the 750ti you need a 'PCie x 16' slot.

If you take the side off your computer and look in, there *should* be a long empty slot below the large fan for the CPU. If you compare the length of the slot to the connector on the bottom of the 750ti it should be a similar length, also these slots usually have 'PCIe x 16' written near to them on the board. To get the 750ti working, all you need to do is plug it into this slot, and then connect your monitor into that instead of the display connector on the motherboard itself (you'll also need to install the software for it Windows to get it working in games once you get to that point).

Without a diagram of the motherboard it's difficult for me to help further though. If your still stuck maybe take a photo of the motherboard in your machine and I can help further?

Well according to that you have a single PCIe x 16 slot available so you should be fine. It will be the only slot inside the machine big enough to fit the 750 ti so I'm guessing you'll be ok.

A couple of words of advice before fitting into your machine:

1: Turn your machine off, and turn the power off at the wall as well *but* leave it plugged in. This will ensure the case is earthed and help prevent you damaging any components due to static electricity buildup.

2: Keep the graphics card in it's protective anti static bag until the machine is ready for it (again you don't want to avoid damaging anything).

3: Before handling the graphics card or touching the board inside your machine make sure to touch some bare metal in the case- this should earth you as well as the case.

4: Make sure to remove the cover plate on the back of the machine where the graphics card is going to go.

5: Fit the card.

So, since your way more tech savvy than I am, I was wondering with my specs could I run Dragon Age Inquisition, I have looked online and it said I could run it pretty well when I put my new GTX in, although I would rather hear it from a person not an automated website.

Operating System
Windows 8.1 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i5 4440 @ 3.10GHz 36 °C
Haswell 22nm Technology
RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard
Gateway Gateway DX4885 (LGA1150) 39 °C
Graphics
LCD TV (1920x1080@59Hz)
[strike]Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Acer Incorporated [ALI])[/strike] Instead I'll have the GTX 750 ti
Storage
931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 (SATA) 33 °C
Optical Drives
MATSHITA DVD-RAM SW830
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio

So could I run it?

Yeah you'll be able to run that no problem at all.

Your just below the 'recommended' specification and waaaay above the minimum, so at worst you may need to turn a few of the settings down (e.g. run it on 'high' settings rather than 'ultra') but it should run fine.
