GTX 750 Ti in an HP computer

I have a friend who wants to upgrade his graphics card in this computer:

He doesn't want to spend a lot of money, so I recommended the 750 Ti so that he wouldn't have to change the PSU, not knowing about the BIOS compatibility issues, which are described here:

We haven't been able to find a BIOS update that will work like the final post on that page suggests, so he is going to return the card tomorrow and wait until he has more money to build a new system. I'm just wondering if anyone has any other ideas before he returns the card.

hard to say but I do see a lot of prebuilts with issues with the ti -- all you can do is research your hp model and see if anyone got one in and working fine or you buy you try and hope it don't make you cry
