Hello everyone,
this is my first time writing on this forum.I have pretty old (actually old af computer) but I have some money enough to buy decent graphics card.I know I should probably save money so I can replace my whole computer with newer components but this is only temporarly solution.I want to buy gtx 750 ti and here are my specs:
cpu: Intel core 2 quad Q9300 2.50 GHz
ram: 6 gb
gpu: ati radeon hd 5750 (I know it's old af )
motherboard: ASrock P45DE
socket 775 lga

First question: would gtx 750 ti fits my current motherboard?
And I want to know how much fps and what graphics settings (low,medium/high/ultra) can I get in Overwatch (my primary game) and maybe gta 5 or some newer games with that gtx 750 ti.And will i receive during gameplay bottleneck or not? Is that bottleneck dangerous with my conf? I want to hear more opinions. Thanks for your time!

Solution
To answer your questions:

- Yes, you can fit the gtx 750ti in your computer. Some models will require a 6 pin PCIe power cable, some won't. That should not be a problem, as your current GPU (Radeon 5750) also requires a 6 pin PCIe extra power cable.
- Performance: for Overwatch, here (https://www.techspot.com/review/1180-overwatch-benchmarks/) you can see what to expect from your GPU, a little over 60 fps @ 1080. As for GTA V, here you have performance numbers (https://www.techspot.com/review/991-gta-5-pc-benchmarks/page2.html) but the gtx 750 ti is not benchmarked, but you can find results for similar cards.
- The GTX 750Ti is quite old by now, if you can find the GTX 1050 or 1050Ti for similar prices, forget the 750Ti. As it's old...

- Bottleneck: a faster CPU would allow this GPU to perform better, definitely. Especially so in CPU intensive games. But this depends on the games themselves. However, in general, any modern CPU should perform much better (yours is about 10 years old, that's an eternity in tech terms).
- Bottleneck dangerous? No bottleneck is dangerous. They can be a waste, a pain in the a$$, and many other annoyances, but never a danger, nothing's going to explode 😉

Hope it helps! :)

Solution

Thanks for detailed answer.I was wondering how much fps could I get with cpu and gpu (not just gpu) in overwatch? and what graphics?

Your cpu is so old no one ever benchmarks new games like Overwatch with them. You can see in the Techspot review i posted above that the weakest modern cpu is barely capable of getting 60 fps with a GTX 1080 at Ultra settings. It all depends on the resolution, the level of detail in the settings, and the hardware. With your CPU and a 750ti, i'm assuming at best a 1920x1080 monitor. You should be able to get 60 fps if you lower the graphics settings. With your hardware, that's your only solution.
