Would all of this work well together? I am also wondering if overclocking the CPU to 4.5GHZ would affect this or make it worse?

Solution
Your already GPU bound with the GTX 750 Ti in almost any scenario. You probably wouldn't see much improvement with the GTX 750 Ti going to an i5-4690k. There will be CPU intensive spots in games where that would be a benefit, but for the most part you wont' notice much difference. A new GPU as DonkeyOatie said would be the most immediate benefit, but an X4 860K is so weak compared to the i5 it would be hard for me to decide for the long term. I'd probably keep saving until I could replace it all.
The two parts will work together, but the result is unbalanced. The GTX 750ti, while a great GPU (I have one in this system), is a low end product. The three to four times faster GTX 970, for example, is a much better fit for that CPU. Most gaming systems are GPU limited anyway, with that GPU you will be setting your limit quite low.

What is your budget, what is your PSU, where are you buying from, and what do you want to do with this?

Sorry to keep asking questions. What is your existing motherboard? I need to know how much you could overclock your existing CPU. You have a good budget CPU and it is capable of driving a decent GPU. What GPU do you have now, so I know what my baseline is?

In general you need to upgrade everything, and a GPU upgrade will likely give the better performance upgrade now.

There is no better CPU for the motherboard you have, so that option is out. All you can consider for a 'better' CPU is to overclock the one you have.

And, for your budget, there is no better CPU/mobo/GPU for that budget (very likely when I know what your existing GPU is)

Hello, with a little over the budget i can get a fx-6300 R7 370 4GB (MSI) Also a SKT-AM3 motherboard into the price aswell. As for my current specs i have:
CPU: X4 860K
GPU: EVGA 750TI
PSU: EVGA 500B 500W
RAM: Hyper Furyx 8GB 1833 MHZ
MOBO: F2A88XM-D3H

I don't think a new motherboard and 6300 is worth it. You can get a decent boost from overclocking your existing CPU. The 6300 is 'wider', but it is not much 'deeper' and it's depth that matters for gaming.

A new GPU up to the 960/380 level and a CPU cooler for overclocking would be how I'd spend your money if it were mine.
