GTX 750ti cpu pair

Solution
Yes that cpu and gpu should be a nice combination and game well at 1080p. You may need to reduce settings for that 750ti to cope with newer games, however the g4560 is strong enough for a more powerful cpu if you want to upgrade in the future. A g4560 and 750ti will perform well in 1080p titles with reduced settings.

The g4560 does not work with ddr3.

Since you will need to get a new board + cpu + ram anyways why not look into ryzen? The 200ge performs quite close to the g4560 and is usually cheaper and this puts you on a platofrm that has future upgrades coming. If you go used the ryzen 1200's go for quite cheap due to people upgrading and those are better than a g4560.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4HQ8KB here is a ryzen 3 2200g quad core processor at 3.5ghz/3.7 turbo (faster than the 1200 and includes powerfull vega graphics for the same price), 16 gb of ram, and a b350 overclocking motherboard for $300 this outperforms the g4560, has overclocking support, has 4 actual cores, and has much more powerfull graphics. The 2200g should be able to overclock to at least 3.8ghz. I have the simmilar AMD ryzen 3 1200 and it takes anything i throw at it. It runs 1080p games well with a descrete video card. It encodes and renders video very smothly and the included cooler is quiet, looks nice, and keeps my cpu cool when overclocked. With the fast memory included it will perform very well, much better than the g4560. I also have the same motherboard and it is very nice. The bright easy to use bios and great support from msi are some strong suits. This motherboard has good power delivery, chuncky red and black heatsyncs, and color coded dimms. The red leds on the motherboard as well as the black pcb make this a good looking motherboard.

I'm assuming the g4560 is the absolute best he can afford and a new 1200 is more expensive than it hence why I said used.
