How much watts does my PSU need to have to run a GTX 760 (OEM) 1.5GB? Nvidia website says it has a maximum consumption of 130W and recommends a 350W PSU, I have a 350W one with 23Amps on the 12V+ Rail and it has the required 6-Pin, also my PC components:

I3-2100 3.1Ghz
8GB DDR3 1333Mhz (2*4)
1*WD Blue 500GB
A CPU Fan and 1* Case Fan
No DVD-Writer

The system should draw at maximum 245W which is equivalent to 20.5Amps, I won't OC or add anything else as in the near future I would just change PSU, so what do you think?

Thanks!

500/700 series Nvidia cards just went into Legacy driver mode which means slow to no optimization patches on newer Software. ON older titles you would be fine with a 700 series but if you want to play newer games then the performance might take a hit.

You will need a new power supply with either card.

A 450 Watt is recommended with a 6 pin VGA power connector.

GPU power recommendations are based on a worst case scenario "Crappy supply" If you have a solid high quality PSU you might be okay. You should be aware of age with power supplies, a high quality unit will produce about 95% of it's rated value after 3 years but a low quality one will be around 50-60% on average, OEM supplies are hit and miss some are around 80% after that amount of time.

Im between 2 options either rx 460 or gtx 760 oem, it seems that gtx wins despite having 1.5gb vram, im playing on 768p anyways, but i dont know if old cards perform bad with newer games, do they?
I have a hec unit im gonna upgrade it a year later but cant right now so as to get a new card

Its only the 400/500 series thats moved to Legacy (Fermi)

Most of the 700 series like the 760 is Kepler.

Actually yes the 600 and 700 series have been moved to Legacy hardware for over a year. It make perfect sense that they would start cutting support for the 700 series since you a have the replacement for the 1000 series coming this year and being fully on the market by mid 2019. I would expect to see the 600/700 series to be in full legacy mode my mid 2019 since that is the same time length they have done with all of there other cards.
You ca already see issues, 760 SLI has been dropped and there are quite a few games where higher end 700 series cards are being hindered greatly by current driver updates.

The next gen starts this year and they don't tend to keep active drivers across more than 3 complete series or for much more than 5 years. There is a pattern you can map out and trace all the way back, to 9000 series cards when this started. Nvidia use to keep driver's much longer but I think, you can guess why that is changed?

600 Late 2012 "6 years old"
700 Mid 2013 " 5 years old now"
.............2018 600/700 moved to legacy hardware page, drivers begin getting phases out.
Driver cutoff for 2019
900 2014/2015
............ Late 2019 900's moved to legacy hardware page, drivers begin getting phases out.
Driver cutoff for Late 2020
1000
1100 "2018/2019"
1200 "2020

See a issue there?

Yeah its just the fermi ones

Although the 600/700 are still supported, they wont receive performance boosts for newer games and optimizations like on 900/1000 and upcoming

Pretty happy with my rx 460, their software is a piece of cake and runs much better than my previous gt 1030, i still keep it around for some stuff, only downward of it is the heat (around 67-71c on max load) but still good
