GTX 760 or GTX 960?

Hello, guys, good afternoon.

I am in doubt about which GPU I should buy in order to run The Witcher 3 at ultra settings on a 1366 x 768 monitor. That is the only AAA title I am interested in, so a GPU able to run it will flawlessly run all the other games I own. I don't plan to play GTA V or Fallout 4, just The Witcher 3 as top graphic level in my library.

For 7 months, I've used the onboard graphics of my i5 4440, with much effort, and now I can finally buy a GPU. I am in doubt about the following GPUs:

1. Zotac GTX 760 2GB 256 bits
2. Galax GTX 960 Mini OC 2 GB 128 Bits

The bits rate will have a relevant influence in the overall perfomance? Just to remember my screen resolution is 1366 x 768. It'll take a while until I change monitor. Even so, when I get a better one, which GPU would still supply me better? Based on what I've researched, GTX 960 price is slightly more expensive than GTX 760.

Additional info: 8 GB RAM, CPU: i5 4440, PSU: Thermaltake 500w. Also, can a 500w PSU handle both of the suggested GPUs? Or should I also get a 550w one?

Thank you in advance.

Memory bit bus and other specs are irrelevant because of the different architecture between both graphics cards. The GTX 960 is much better, the price difference is probably very small so the GTX 960 wins here no question.

Your Thermaltake 500w is perhaps not great quality, but will handle both GPU's fine. The GTX 960 only needs a good 400-430 watts PSU to run.

Hello... here is a general performance chart of GPU's for your consideration... http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
The GTX 980 will have 256 bit memory, and more cores, and you can see the performance difference.
256 bit and higher memory is a expensive for them and NVidia has found a way to use 128 bit with the GTX 960 that lets it perform better than a GTX 760 with 256 bit memory... But not as good as a GTX 770.

You will notice a Lower Power usage and needs though, between the 900 series and 700 series GPU's.

Thank you very much, guys! I've seen many reviews on youtube about running The Witcher 3 at ultra settings with GTX 960, varying from 45 to 67 fps. Since my screen resolution isn't a full HD one (1366 x 768), do you think I can make it a safe 60 fps at ultra or high?
