GTX 760 to 1060 6GB Worth it?

So i currently have the GTX 760 2GB Twin Frozr. I am able to run my games okay But i thought about getting a 1060 to future proof my system.
Current rig:

i5 4590
asus h81m-a
GTX 760 2GB twin frozr
8gb ram ddr3 dual channel
550w 80+ Corsair PSU

So is it worth it?

if youre able to run your games to your satisfaction right now, dont upgrade.
if you do want a bump, the 1060 is going to be rather a large bump up in performance

It will double your performance and is a good upgrade.

As others have said its a great idea. I don't remember where I read this but I think it was somewhere on here on Tom's or maybe Linus Tech Tips but the rule of thumb has always been that if you are in the market to upgrade, its worth it usually as long as the current card is 3 generations old.

I second the idea that it's a mistake to upgrade if your current performance is acceptable. New cards come out, prices go down as time passes. This means that it costs you nothing to wait, in fact it saves you money. If you need to upgrade, then yes do so. You'll know if you need to if you can specifically say what kind of performance you are getting now in your games(name the games) and what kind of performance you are looking to gain.
